Programs and Services

Transit Information RideFinders promotes GRTC Transit System and Virginia Overland’s Mechanicsville to Downtown Richmond service by providing commuters with helpful transit information.

Vanpool Services RideFinders supports 34 vanpools and provides vanpool formation services, including VanStart and VanSave programs.

Carpool Matchlist RideFinders matches commuters with neighbors who share similar work locations and hours. The matchlist is mailed to the newly registered client, and RideFinders provides follow-up assistance and additional carpool information.

Telework RideFinders provides employers technical assistance in establishing telework programs.

Clean Air Campaign
RideFinders notifies area employers of Ozone Action Days issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. This notification encourages employees to rideshare. The “Get Aware of Your Air” campaign works to improve the region’s air quality and maintain EPA standards.

Downtown Commuter Guide RideFinders provides a map of downtown Richmond public parking lots and a corresponding list of parking space costs.

Emergency Ride Home Program In support of commuters who ride the bus, vanpool or carpool to work at least three days a week, RideFinders picks up the taxi or rental car costs for those who get called away from work on an emergency, or need to work late unexpectedly. (restrictions apply)

Transportation Planning RideFinders supports transportation demand management (TDM) strategies through the transportation planning process and educates employers and citizens about opportunities to voice their opinions.

Employer-Based Marketing
RideFinders also promotes TDM strategies through the Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) network.

Employer Relocation and Site Analysis Services RideFinders assists with employee retention by implementing TDM strategies during company relocations. RideFinders also produces density plot maps for vanpool and carpool formation efforts, and determines transit and Park ’N Ride needs.
