Commute/Transportation

Carpool. Try carpooling to work, to run errands, for shopping trips and or evenings out with friends.

VANPOOL. Contact RideFinders at 804-643-7433 for more information.

Drive smart. Make sure tire pressure is correct. Keep air filters clean.

Walk or bike. For fun, exercise, to improve your health or to work and save money on gas and parking while improving your cardiovascular health.

RIDE THE BUS. Let someone else do the driving while you read a good book, get some work done, do a crossword puzzle or just relax!

At Home

Bank green. Request online statements. Say no to ATM receipts. Pay bills online.

Trip chain. Plan trips to include more than one location.

Recycle glass, plastic, metal, paper and your electronics!

Do full loads of laundry. Whenever you wash just a few clothes or dishes at a time rather than waiting for a full load to accumulate, you're wasting water, power, and money.

Unplug household items like your TV and cell phone charger from wall sockets and plug them into power strips instead. Power strips conserve energy and save you cash!

At Work

Hold a walking meeting. It’s a great way to conserve energy and exercise.
