RideFinders offers a variety of programs and services to help commuters and employers throughout the Richmond Region make smarter, more sustainable transportation choices.
Vanpool Program: supports vanpools, provides vanpool formation services for area employers and vanpool formation.
Carpool Matching: “matches” commuters with those in their neighborhoods that also share similar work locations and hours.
Transit Program: promotes the use of public transportation by providing trip planning assistance, distributing transit schedules, and connecting commuters to GRTC’s services. The program also educates riders on the benefits of using transit—reducing costs, minimizing stress, and lowering environmental impact—while encouraging employers to support transit as part of their employee commuting options.
Clean Air Campaign: helps to improve the region’s air quality and notifies employers of Ozone Action Days issued by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
Commuter Choice Program: assists employers with the development and implementation of tax-free transportation benefits programs.
Telework: serves as a resource center for program development and technical assistance for employers.
ConnectingVA Ride Home Reward Program: helps registered commuters who vanpool, carpool, or take transit to work at least three days a week get home in the event of an emergency.
Transportation Planning: supports transportation demand management (TDM) strategies through the regional transportation planning process and serves as a distribution site for requests for public input on draft transportation plans.
Employer-Based Strategies: promotes TDM strategies by working with employers throughout the region and recruiting Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) network established at employer sites.
Employer Services: assists area employers with conducting employee surveys, producing density plot maps for vanpool and carpool formation, and developing employee trip reduction programs.
Park and Ride Lot: provides formal and informal park and ride lot information to area commuters who are interested in taking advantage of a shared-ride commute mode.
