Through Count It. Change It., RideFinders offers two programs exclusively for carpoolers and vanpoolers who live or work in Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and surrounding communities. Choose the program that fits your commute!
Tri-Cities Carpool & Vanpool Incentive Program – Earn $150 for choosing to share the ride
The Count It. Change It. Tri-Cities Carpool & Vanpool Incentive Program encourages commuters to change from driving alone and commit to carpooling or vanpooling. Print the program flyer and learn more.
Participants can earn a one-time $150 incentive by recording shared commute trips in ConnectingVA.
Who is eligible? To participate, you must:
- Be a new ConnectingVA member with a completed commuter profile.
- Live or work in Tri-Cities region including Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Prince George County, Dinwiddie County, and Fort Gregg-Adams.
- Record 30 non–drive-alone round-trip commutes (or 60 one-way trips) by carpool or vanpool within 90 days.
To participate, commuters first join RideFinders and complete their commuter profile in ConnectingVA. Eligible members are then automatically invited to participate in the program. Once a participant records their first carpool or vanpool trip, the 90-day activity period begins. After successfully logging 30 round trips (or 60 one-way trips) within that timeframe, participants receive instructions to redeem their incentive. Upon completing a brief program survey, the $150 Tango e-gift link is delivered by email.
Tri-Cities Ride & Win Rewards Program – Monthly rewards for recording carpool and vanpool trips
The Count It. Change It. Tri-Cities Ride & Win Rewards Program rewards current and returning carpoolers and vanpoolers for consistently recording their shared commute trips in ConnectingVA. Print the program flyer and learn more.
Each month, eligible participants are automatically entered into a random drawing to win a $25 Tango e-gift card—just for recording their trips.
Who is eligible? Participants must:
- Be an active RideFinders member with a completed commuter profile in ConnectingVA.
- Live or work in Tri-Cities region including Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Prince George County, Dinwiddie County, and Fort Gregg-Adams.
- Have not recorded a trip in ConnectingVA within the past 6 months.
- Record at least 20 one-way trips or 10 round trips by carpool or vanpool in a single calendar month.
The Ride & Win Rewards drawing is held monthly through June 30, with four winners selected each month—two from carpool participants and two from vanpool participants. Winners are chosen through a random drawing from eligible trips recorded in the system. Selected participants receive their $25 Tango e-gift card link via automated email delivery after eligibility is confirmed.
All rewards are subject to available funding.
