Peace of Mind for Your Commute

Worried about sharing a ride and then getting stuck at work due to an emergency? Whether it’s a family emergency, unexpected overtime, a sick child, or you’re feeling ill at work—RideFinders has you covered.

If you’re a full- or part-time employee who commutes by carpool, vanpool, or transit, you may qualify for a free ride home in the event of an unexpected situation.

Eligible commuters may use the ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards program up to six (6) times annually from their ConnectingVA account activation date, with a maximum of two (2) trips in any month.

  • Your commute must begin in the Richmond region, within the RideFinders service area.
  • You must have logged at least six alternative commute trips (carpool, vanpool, or transit) in the preceding 30 days prior to your request and the day the ride is requested. 
  • Log your trips easily by downloading the ConnectingVA app or from your desktop.
  • Rides may be requested only through the ConnectingVA app or website (https://connectingva.agilemile.com/) Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Ride Home Rewards service does not operate on weekends or the observed Virginia state and Federal holidays.
  • Rides are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, excluding federal and state holidays.
  • For unexpected overtime that requires the commuter to work past 7 p.m., the commuter must request their trip prior to their regularly scheduled work end time and no later than 7 p.m. The trip can be arranged to pick up the commuter after 7 p.m.
