RideFinders News

We’re proud to release our Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report – Connecting People, Places & Possibilities, highlighting a year of meaningful progress in advancing sustainable transportation options across the Richmond and Tri-Cities regions. The report showcases our impact through innovative programs, strategic partnerships, community outreach, and a renewed commitment to helping commuters choose greener ways to travel.

Throughout FY25, we continued our mission to reduce drive alone vehicle trips and improve regional mobility by expanding carpool and vanpool options, enhancing trip recording engagement through the ConnectingVA platform, promoting transit through campaigns like Count It. Change It., and strengthening employer partnerships that support commuters in making cost saving, eco-friendly choices.

“FY25 was a transformative year,” said Executive Director Cherika Ruffin. “From growing our rideshare programs to broadening our community and employer outreach, this report demonstrates how small daily commuting decisions when counted together can truly change our region.”

Highlights from FY25 include:

  • 519 new commuter registrations, reflecting growing interest in carpooling, vanpooling, transit, and biking.
  • Completed the rigorous accreditation process with the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), resulting in GRTC and the RideFinders program earning official certification as an Accredited TDM Organization.
  • Commuters collectively saved more than $837,000 in fuel and vehicle costs.
  • Partnered with vanpool vendors to start 14 new vanpools.
  • Recruited 33 new Employee Transportation Coordinators (ETCs) at worksites.

The FY25 Annual Report also features data on vehicle miles reduced, emissions saved, community outreach and activities that reflect our commitment to connection, innovation, and customer focused service.
