ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards Program
RideFinders News
As we head into the new year, it’s a great time to make sure you’re familiar with an important commuter benefit designed to support flexible, reliable travel options.
In July 2025, RideFinders transitioned from the Emergency Ride Home program to the ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards program. While the name has changed, the purpose and benefit remain the same—providing commuters with peace of mind by ensuring a dependable ride home when unexpected situations arise.
The ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards program is available to full-time and part-time employees who carpool, vanpool, or take transit to work. If an emergency or unforeseen event prevents you from taking your usual ride home, the program provides a free ride home or back to your vehicle at a park-and-ride lot.
To qualify for the reward, participants must:
- Have recorded six (6) carpool, vanpool, or transit trips to work within the 30 days prior to the request, and
- Have used one of those modes to commute to work on the day the ride is requested.
The program is available Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST, excluding federal and state holidays. In cases of unexpected overtime, rides may be scheduled prior to 7:00 p.m. for a later pickup.
Knowing this benefit exists can make it easier to choose shared rides or transit with confidence as you plan your commute in the new year. Click here for complete program guidelines and instructions on how to request a ride.
