10th Annual Virginia Telework Week is March 2-6

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) announced March 2 – 6, 2020 has been designated Telework Week in Virginia, a tradition that began ten years ago. DRPT and commuter assistance agencies, like RideFinders, across Virginia are encouraging employers to explore the benefits of teleworking by allowing eligible employees to telework at least one day that week.

“DRPT is proud to sponsor Telework Week in Virginia for the 10th consecutive year. Telework is a business-friendly strategy that also helps manage traffic congestion by removing vehicles from Virginia’s roads,” said Jennifer Mitchell, Director of the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. “It’s a win-win for employees, businesses, and Virginia.”

By implementing a telework program, businesses in Virginia can take advantage of the many benefits of telework. Allowing employees to work from home one day a week can improve employee productivity, increase employee retention, and improve employee recruitment and work-life balance.

More information for individuals and businesses interested in starting or expanding a telework program can be found at www.teleworkva.org.
