Five Ways to Go Green for Labor Day

As the unofficial end of the summer, the Labor Day holiday is a great time to incorporate (or add) some eco-friendly strategies that can be used now and into our daily lives. This Labor Day, let’s celebrate while being kind to our planet.  Check out these sustainable tips to make your holiday enjoyable and environmentally friendly!

  1. Shop locally. This supports local farmers and helps reduce emissions associated with transportation.
  2. Carpool to events or to visit family. Taking transit, walking or biking are other environmentally friendly ways to travel!
  3. Reduce, reuse, reycle.
  4. Avoid disposables (paper plates, cups, utensils) as much as you can. Instead use reusable tableware to minimize waste.
  5. Green grilling. Opt for a natural gas or propane grill instead of charcoal.

By making small changes in your Labor Day celebrations, you can contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. Let's make a positive impact together!
