March 2 is Read Across America Day

March 2 is Read Across America Day! The National Education Association (NEA) launched Read Across America Day in 1998 and is the nation’s largest celebration of reading! According to the NEA, “This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone.”

Since August, RideFinders has promoted early literacy through its We Read Wednesdays segments. Each Wednesday, RideFinders staff, including the Executive Director, reads a book focusing on transportation or Earth friendly activities such as recycling. RideFinders has also welcomed several guest readers! In this short video, go on a behind the scenes view of RideFinders Program Manager visiting Chesterfield County’s Meadowdale Library to select books for the segment.
